This is What I Do

I have over eight years of industry experience, and have been an integral part of web design projects for numerous companies during those years, including attorneys, real estate companies, artists, musicians, retailers and more. I am currently employed full time doing website development.

I specialize in standards-based XHTML and CSS web design, focusing on accessibility. Each site I design is built to be search engine friendly, using the latest development principles and techniques, and compatible across all browsers to make sure all users will see websites the same way. I also offer consultation to help you get the most out of your web presence. To find out more about what I can do for you, check out my work, or contact me today.

Your website is usually the first thing potential clients will see of your business. It is important to give a good first impression, and to make your site functional to keep them coming back.

I offer web design services for individual or small businesses, locally in the Asheville area as well as across the United States. I will work hard to get your site built within your individual time constraints. Whether you need a site from scratch or just a new face to your existing site, please contact me and I will provide you with a fair and reasonable quote. I design around your needs, and your clients' expectations.

Once my web design services are complete, I provide support services for your site as well. As your business grows and changes, you will need to reflect that in your website, and I will be there to make that happen. Please don't hesitate to ask me more about what I have to offer you or your business.

A Little About Who I Am

Mike Hoffman

I have been designing websites for over ten years. I graduated from the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, NC in 1997 from the Computer Art & Animation program. I decided that 3D animation was not something I really wanted to do, and fell in love with web design. For a few years it was nothing but a hobby, but eventually I decided I wanted to make a career out of it. I am 100% self taught and feel that it has made me stronger as a designer. I have put a lot of effort into figuring out what works and what doesn't work.

I currently reside in a small town just outside Asheville, with my wife, Natalie, my two kids, Livi and Alex, our three dogs and two cats. I attend church at Biltmore Baptist Church in Arden, NC.

I adhere to current css and xhtml standards. Because of that, I prefer to ignore IE 6 as it is a very outdated browser.

For those unfamiliar with website development, my current full time job entails taking a photoshop file of a design, converting all of the graphics to web usable graphic files, and writing the html and css files to turn it into a website. After I am done, the programmers take over to give it any javascript, php, etc for connecting to databases or making pages dynamic. Once they are done, I style the front end to match the site.

When I work on my own projects, I do everything from design to production, from flash to basic php and javascript programming. If I need in depth programming, I know a programmer that is experienced and very good at what he does. I just make sure the site works the way the client wants it to work.
